Evolve Etiquette

We believe in a respectful, clean, and welcoming experience for all of our guests. Please read through and acknowledge our code of kindness.

Clothing and swimwear should be family friendly. We want to maintain a comfortable environment for all.
Limit to TWO towels per visit.
In order to keep the saunas clean, be sure to always be seated on a towel while in the sauna.
Be considerate. Adhere to all time guidelines for time restricted modalities.
Be respectful of others. Take phone calls outside.
Remove your name from the waitlist after using Red Light Therapy (RLT).
Take care of equipment - wipe after each use.
No wet swimwear allowed outside of the Fire & Ice, RLT, or Infrared sauna rooms.
Do not sit on/in the massage chairs or recliners while wet.
While we are primarily a shoeless facility, indoor-only sandals or footwear may be worn in the space. If you are wearing outdoor shoes, we may ask you to remove them.

General Guidelines

1. The use of drugs or alcohol prior to or during the sauna or cold water immersion session may lead to dizziness or unconsciousness. Drugs and alcohol are not allowed on the Evolve Social Wellness premises, and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone intoxicated.

2. Please contact and consult your physician if you are in doubt of your ability to engage in any of our services for health reasons.

3. No clients under the age of 18 are permitted in the facility unless accompanied by a supervising adult.

4. Please discontinue the use of services if you feel light-headed, dizzy, heat exhausted, or cold shock.

5. Sauna sessions should be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes for the infrared sauna, and 10 minutes for the Norwegian saunas. Cold Water Immersion sessions should be limited to 2 minutes for the first session, 3 minutes for the next 5 sessions, and 5 minutes maximum with supervision.

6. It is advised to drink plenty of water before and after any sauna session.

7. Clients using any medications must consult a physician prior to the use of the saunas or cold water immersion.

8. Pregnant women should not use the saunas, cold water immersion tanks, or assisted stretching sessions.

9. Clients with a medical history of circulatory system problems should consult a physician prior to using saunas or cold water immersion.

10. For clients engaging in specialized breathing exercises while using the cold immersion tanks, you must always apply the techniques learned, including but not limited to breathing exercises and physical exercises, in a safe environment (e.g. sitting on a couch/floor) and unforced. Do not ever practice the techniques before or during diving, driving, swimming, taking a bath or any other environment/place where it might be dangerous to faint. Specialized breathing exercises have a profound effect and should be practiced in the way it is explained.

FOR SPECIALTY EQUIPMENT AT EVOLVE SOCIAL WELLNESS

BrainTap is NOT recommended for individuals that have the following:

Epilepsy
A history of seizures
A family history of epilepsy or seizures
Individuals who are taking prescribed medication for anxiety or depression, psychological or psychiatric conditions.
Individuals who have had a head or brain injury or had brain surgery, stroke, or are taking Photosensitive medication(s).
Vibration Plate is NOT recommended for individuals that have/had the following:
A head or brain injury or had brain surgery
Eye surgery
Are pregnant
Retinal detachment
Fresh surgical wounds
Implants including cochlear implants or joint implants
Pacemaker
Kidney or bladder stones
Arrhythmia
Epilepsy and/or Seizures
Cancer
Untreated orthostatic hypotension
Recent surgery
Recently placed intrauterine devices or pins
Acute thrombosis or hernia
Acute rheumatoid arthritis
Serious cardiovascular disease
Severe diabetes
Migraines

Red Light Therapy/Photobiomodulation/Near infrared spectrum light/Low Level Laser Therapy

DO NOT look directly at the device. The user is required to keep their eyes CLOSED during a session or to use protective eyewear.

Red Light Therapy is NOT recommended under the following circumstances:

If you have a malignancy (Cancer).
If you are or suspect you may be pregnant.
If you suffer from various thyroid conditions.
If you have epilepsy
When using topical medications, lotions, tanning creams, or local injections.
If you are experiencing hemorrhaging and/or active bleeding.
Clients with darker skin tones or tattoos should limit dosage and intensity due to higher light absorption.
If you suffer from lupus erythematosus, photosensitive eczema or albinism.
If you suffer from light-induced headaches.
If you are taking any medication that can cause photosensitivity.
If you suffer from any genetic conditions of the eye.
Photosensitivity is a common side effect of various medications.
These can include certain antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, and diuretics. If you are unsure about any medication you may be taking, consult your healthcare provider.
Other substances not listed above can also cause photosensitivity. Common examples of these substances are: St. John's wort, coal tar, deodorants, antibacterial soaps, artificial sweeteners, naphthalene (mothballs), petroleum products, brightening agents found in laundry detergent, and cadmium sulfide (a chemical injected into the skin during tattooing).

Tri-Wave/Hypnagogic Light

Before you engage in Tri-Wave experience with hypnagogic light, you will first need to complete a separate safety questionnaire. Although very few challenges ever occur, we consider your safety to be number one in any session. The light is not recommended for individuals who have experienced the following:

Personally suffer from epilepsy or have had a seizure
Have a family history of epilepsy or seizures
Taking prescription medications, including those for anxiety or depression
Have any psychological or psychiatric conditions
Have had head or brain injuries or had brain surgery
Have had a stroke
Taking photosensitive medication
May be pregnant
Have had laser treatment to the face within the last month
Taking recreational or psychoactive drugs in the last 24 hours
Have consumed alcohol in the last 24 hours

SPECIAL NOTE ON SAUNAS AND COLD IMMERSION THERAPY:

Saunas, Infrared Saunas, Cold Water Immersion, and especially Contrast Therapy can put strain on the cardiovascular and respiratory system. If you have a history or concerns about your cardiovascular or respiratory health, PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE UTILIZING THESE SERVICES.

AGREEMENT TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS

I agree to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings and further agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by Evolve Social Wellness employees or representatives of Evolve Social Wellness. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately.

Below named guest/member hereby certifies, warrants, represents, agrees and covenants to Evolve, its owners and their representatives that they are:

(1) FREE OF ANY MENTAL OR PHYSICAL CONDITION, AILMENT OR INJURY (MEDICAL OR OTHERWISE) WHICH WOULD, IN AND OF ITSELF OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THOSE ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF EVOLVE, (i) IMPAIR, PREVENT OR PROHIBIT USER FROM SAFELY ENGAGING IN THE APPROVED ACTIVITIES AT EVOLVE; OR (ii) BE AFFECTED, AGGRAVATED OR WORSEN IN ANY WAY AS A RESULT, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, BY ENGAGING IN THE APPROVED [ACTIVITIES] AT EVOLVE;

(2) OF SOUND MIND AND BODY AND NOT UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR ANY ILLICIT OR PRESCRIPTION DRUG OR MEDICATION WHICH MAY IN ANY WAY IMPAIR [USER’S] ABILITY TO ENTER INTO THIS AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND THE RESPECTIVE INTENT AND MEANING OF ALL OF THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS HEREOF AND TO ENGAGE IN THE APPROVED [ACTIVITIES] AT EVOLVE;

(3) ENTERING INTO THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT VOLUNTARILY, BY [USER’S] OWN FREE WILL, ACT AND DEED, WITHOUT ANY UNDUE INFLUENCE FROM EVOLVE, ITS OWNERS, OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVES, OR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY.

The guest/member understands that by signing this Agreement, guest/member covenants and agrees that guest/member, as well as such guest/member heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, will never institute any suit or action at law, or otherwise, against any of Evolve Social Wellness, its owners or their representatives, or in any way aid in the institution or prosecution of any claim, demand, action or cause of action for damages, costs, loss of services, expenses or compensation for or on account of any damage, loss or injury either to guest/member's person or property, or both, which may result from the guest/member's engaging in the approved activities at Evolve Social Wellness. Guest/member agrees to defend and hold Evolve Social Wellness, its owners and their representatives harmless from any loss or damages, including attorneys' fees and costs, sustained by Evolve Social Wellness, its owners and their representatives, or any one or more of them, as a result of any guest/member's rescission of this Agreement or breach of its covenants or agreements contained in this paragraph.

MEDICAL ATTENTION. Guest/member agrees that during usage of Evolve Social Wellness, its owners and their representatives are authorized to secure appropriate medical attention for guest/member in the event of an accident, illness or injury. Guest/member shall be responsible for any and all costs of medical coverage and treatment provided not covered by guest/member's insurance.

MEDIA RELEASE: Guest/member grants Evolve Social Wellness permission to use their likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. The guest/member understands and agrees that all photos will become the property of Evolve Social Wellness and will not be returned. The guest/member irrevocably authorizes Evolve Social Wellness to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, guest/member waives any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein their likeness appears. Additionally, the guest/member waives any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the photo.

If any provision of this Agreement shall for any reason be held invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect any other provision hereof and this Agreement shall be construed as if such invalid or unenforceable provision were omitted.

GOVERNING LAW: The validity, interpretation, construction and enforcement of this Agreement shall be governed and controlled by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to that State's rules with respect to choice of law. Venue for any dispute arising out of this Agreement shall be in Bexar County, Texas.

THE WAIVER AND RELEASE GRANTED BY USER HEREUNDER IS LEGALLY BINDING AND SHALL BE CONSIDERED IRREVOCABLE. USER AGREES THAT EVOLVE, ITS OWNERS AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVES MAY RELY UPON THIS AGREEMENT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE AT LAW OR IN EQUITY.
